ICE EDITION SYNCHRONIZED SKATING
Ice Edition is an Adult II synchronized skating team representing the Gateway Skating Club. The team has a long history in the discipline of synchronized skating. Although the sport has evolved over the years, at the core remains teamwork. Synchro brings together a group of skaters that can share their love for the sport of skating as they work together toward a common goal. Each new season provides an opportunity to create a new program with elements and transitions that combine both individual and synchronized skating skills.
The team is fortunate to be coached by Michele Rowein who has over 25 years of coaching experience in synchronized skating. She has national level experience and has led the team to several podium finishes in the past including the gold medal at the Festival Adult National Championships in 2004. Her dedication and experience is a great asset to the team. The season runs from late August to early March. The team practices most Sunday evenings and some Friday evenings with off-ice and on-ice training. We will compete in three competitions this season in addition to ice shows. The team has open spots available and skaters must be at least 18 years of age by July 1st. No synchronized skating experience is required but skaters should be comfortable with backwards skating, basic twizzles and turns with a willingness to work on more difficult twizzles and turns. If you think this sport might be for you, please contact iceeditionadult@gmail.com for more information.
